Testing and evaluation of exoskeletons in industry

ASTM International's Exoskeletons and Exosuits Committee (F48) is working on a proposed standard to provide measurement protocols for reliable testing and evaluation of exoskeletons.

ASTM member Sunwook Kim says the proposed standard will help make exoskeleton testing more efficient.

"We are trying to answer an important practical question: How often do subjective and objective tests need to be performed to evaluate the actual impact on different exoskeletons during common occupational tasks?" says Kim.

Researchers and practitioners can use the proposed standard (WK83361) to design efficient and effective studies that evaluate the effects of using an exoskeleton in both laboratory and real-world settings.

ASTM welcomes participation in the development of its standards. BECOME A MEMBER OF ASTM.
