Founded in 2016 by Ph.D. Han, Chang Soo, who holds the following roles: President of Korean Society of Rehabilitation Robots (KORERO), Member of Innovation & Challenge Project Promotion Committee, A full-time member of National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK), A former professor of robotics at Hanyang University. The company has 27 employees and 102 patents in 2023.

HEXAR's products can be rented or transferred to the buyer after five years. The shortest rental period is ten days. The solutions have a CE marking and are certified according to ISO13485.
