Summary:

FreeGait® is a specially designed exoskeleton system that supports people with spinal cord injuries in their rehabilitation. The main goal of this system is to improve patient mobility and function by providing adjustable support that can be adapted to different body sizes. However, it is important to note that FreeGait® is intended for use in controlled clinical environments such as gait labs or rehabilitation centers under the supervision of medical professionals.

The exoskeleton system is controlled via a forearm control, which can either be assigned to the operator or used by the patient. It is of great importance that the device is used according to the instructions and under the guidance of trained professionals, as it is not suitable for personal use. By using FreeGait®, patients are able to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs and turn in both directions. This allows for improved overall mobility and functionality.

The FreeGait® system provides adjustable support to meet the individual needs of each patient. Adjustment options include adjustment of leg length, body weight distribution and walking speed. These adjustments allow the patient to make optimal use of the system and achieve effective rehabilitation.

However, the use of FreeGait® requires careful monitoring and guidance by healthcare professionals. The system should only be used under their supervision to ensure that it functions properly and does not cause harm to patients. The professionals can also monitor the patient's progress and adjust the therapy accordingly.

Overall, FreeGait® is an innovative exoskeleton system that aims to improve the mobility and function of people with spinal cord injuries. Through its adjustable support and versatile functions, it enables patients to advance their rehabilitation and improve their quality of life. With proper supervision and guidance from healthcare professionals, FreeGait® can be a valuable tool in the rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injuries.
