Der Geschäftsführer der ax-lightness composites GmbH, welche diese Lösung in Duderstadt (Deutschland) eigens in Werken produziert, hat das Produkt aufgrund eigener Erfahrungen als Feuerwehrmann entwickelt. Den Thorax gibt es in fünf Größen, die kleinste Lösung XS wiegt lediglich 690 Gramm. Es dient zur Stabilisierung den Rumpfbereiches. Der Preis liegt bei 2.000 € und 3.500 EUR, in Abhängigkeit vom Land und der Stückzahl.

The material has a glass-fiber-reinforcing effect on the back due to the amaride and is therefore bulletproof. It is water and dust repellent. It reminds the body of the ideal posture. The thorax is not suitable for lying down. The pads can be removed and it can be customized at several points. The Thorax is designed unisex, so women and men can both use it.


When lifting loads or holding production goods, the Thorax-SSM supports the spine by optimizing its load-bearing capacity. At the same time, its natural memory helps to bring the body into an upright position and relieves the spine. With freedom of movement throughout, the Thorax-SSM can be worn throughout the activity.


The big advantage is that you can wear the thorax under your clothes, so it is no longer noticeable.


The special feature of this solution is the "carbon" material, which not only makes the exoskeleton extremely light, but also, if desired, bulletproof. This means that emergency forces can benefit from it twice over.

ISO Certification & Mode of Action:

Thorax has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 26800 by the Institut für Gesundheit und Ergonomie e.V. (IGR). DIN EN ISO 26800 represents the general approach to ergonomics and defines essential ergonomic principles and concepts. Ergonomics deals with human, technological, economic and organizational factors that influence the behavior, activities and well-being of people at work.
