HELK is an ergonomic textile exoskeleton specially designed to support the lumbar spine. It is equipped with a series of "artificial muscles", consisting of elastic materials with variable deformation. These muscles are used to support the person in any movement where the lower back is loaded. HELK provides the perfect balance between comfort and long-term lumbar protection. At only 0.7 kg, it is the lightest and most versatile exoskeleton on the market. In addition, it provides support between 7 and 15 kg.
HELK is designed for healthcare professionals who must perform demanding tasks such as transferring and moving patients during their workday.
It is created through a license from the Cajal Institute (CSIC) and in collaboration with the National Hospital for Paraplegics in Toledo. Cyber Human Systems is a spin off of Gogoa Mobility Robots. GOGOA Mobility Robots has received a total of 1.6 million euros in 2 rounds of funding. The latest funding was raised in a grant round on December 1, 2018.
