Application example:

The Cionic Neural Sleeve NS-100 is designed to provide dorsiflexion and/or plantar flexion of the ankle in adults with drop foot and/or to assist in knee flexion or extension in adults with muscle weakness associated with upper motor neuron disease/injury (e.g., stroke, damage to pathways to the spinal cord). The Cionic Neural Sleeve NS-100 electrically stimulates muscles in the affected leg to allow dorsiflexion of the ankle and/or plantar flexion of the foot and/or knee flexion or extension; thus, it may also improve the individual's gait.

The Cionic Neural Sleeve NS-100 can also:

  • Facilitate muscle recovery
  • Prevent/delay atrophy due to non-use
  • Preserve or increase the range of motion of the joints
  • Increase local blood flow

Contraindications:

Individuals with implanted on-demand pacemakers or defibrillators should not use the Cionic Neural Sleeve; the Cionic Neural Sleeve should not be used over malignant tumors; the Cionic Neural Sleeve should not be placed over areas where thrombosis is already present; the Cionic Neural Sleeve should not be used on a leg where a regional disorder, such as a fracture or dislocation, could be adversely affected by movement due to stimulation.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

What colors are available?

The Cionic Neural Sleeve is currently available in two colors - Graphite and Sapphire. More colors will be released in the future.

How long can the device be used in a day before the battery needs to be recharged?

Depending on the usage, the battery is supposed to last around 8 hours.

How long does the device last?

The Control Unit can expect to last for several years if well maintained. The Control Unit has a rechargeable battery that is not removable. Do not attempt to replace the battery. Maintain a routine of daily charging if you use the system regularly, and at least once a month if your system is stored. Avoid leaving your control unit uncharged indefinitely to minimize the risk of reduced battery life. Refer to the Technical Specifications section of the manual for information on appropriate operating and storage conditions.

Will It Help Me Walk Faster?

Individuals may respond differently to wearing the sleeve. In studies we have conducted, some participants have demonstrated an increase in gait speed. Other participants report increased endurance or the ability to walk longer or over greater distances.

Can I use two sleeves?

We recommend starting with a sleeve on the most affected side.

Are there trainings?

Yes, we will schedule an online training session with one of our mobility specialists who will guide you through the process of setting up your Neural Sleeve. The mobility specialist will evaluate your walking with the Neural Sleeve and adjust settings to maximize effectiveness and comfort.

Does It Hurt? How Does It Feel?

Functional electrical stimulation should not be painful. Some users describe the sensation as tingling, tapping, buzzing or pulling in the muscles. The stimulation parameters can be adjusted to find the most comfortable setting for each individual.

What happens when the sleeve no longer works? Is there a warranty?

The Cionic Neural Sleeve has a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. CIONIC does not provide free repair for malfunctions caused by the following behaviors:

  • Unauthorized disassembly or modification of the product.
  • Accidental dropping of the product during use or transport.
  • Lack of proper maintenance.
  • Operation not according to instructions.
  • Repairs by unauthorized repair business.
How Many Electrodes Are Included In The First Year?

Electrode life varies based on usage, but we will provide replacements as part of our subscription program during the first year if the electrodes deteriorate.

Does the sleeve get hot?

The sleeve is designed to provide improved comfort and breathability - similar to leggings.

Does the cuff fit my specific body measurements?

The Neural Sleeve is available in different sizes to fit different body shapes, and measuring is part of the ordering process.

What material is the cover made of?

The shell is made of 2 layers of sports performance fabric (84 % nylon, 16 % Lycra®) with integrated electronic components.

Is The Neural Sleeve Available Outside The United States?

We are currently approved by the FDA to market and sell the Cionic Neural Sleeve in the United States. A valid prescription from a U.S. based physician and a U.S. mailing address are required. We are evaluating potential collaborations to expand internationally in the future.

Is The Neural Cuff Available For Pediatric Use?

Currently, the Cionic Neural Sleeve is indicated for use in adults 22 years of age and older. We will be conducting pediatric studies in the near future and will announce new studies and future availability directly in our newsletter.
