The Ekso EVO is an upper body exoskeleton designed to reduce fatigue. It reduces work-related injuries to the neck, shoulder and back.
Everything you need to know about the features and benefits of the Ekso Evo Upper Body Exoskeleton from Ekso Bionics need to know.
The Ekso EVO is a body-worn exoskeleton that supports workers in production or crafts during strenuous activities, especially overhead work. It can be adapted to different body sizes. The standard configuration includes a complete kit that includes the base device as well as three pairs of arm cuffs, three pairs of upper arm straps, two hip belts, the hip belt extender, four pairs of springs and storage bags.
The Ekso EVO offers the following features and components:
EVO's patented Stacked-Link structure has seamlessly followed the user's arm and elbow through the entire range of motion while providing proper joint alignment through repetitive motion. This wearable exoskeleton with the patented Stacked-Link structure is fully capable of extreme logistical positions - such as reaching directly above the head, across the body, or even into a back pocket for a phone.
EVO's heavy-duty adjustable actuators have proven to be extremely durable, with over one million cycles before they need to be replaced. The support level of each unit can be adjusted to suit the user and task by simply changing the set of compact gas springs. Depending on the task, different levels can even be selected independently for each arm.
Areas of application
The Ekso Bionics EVO Shoulder Exoskeleton is an advanced device designed to provide additional support and mobility for people with shoulder impairments. With a lightweight and ergonomic design, this exoskeleton fits snugly to the upper body and provides comfortable and effective support to the shoulder region. The Ekso Bionics EVO Shoulder exoskeleton also features a highly customizable system that can be tailored to the user's individual needs, ensuring maximum comfort and support.
The Ekso Evo is based on three years of feedback from early adopters like Boeing and Ford on its predecessor, the EksoWorks Vest. One notable improvement is the replacement of the central support column that connected the harness to the shoulders. The EVO instead uses two flexible assemblies with multiple joints. The new design also includes a stylish protective cover that conceals the joint mechanism and protects it from contamination, while reducing the risk of entrapment or snagging. These changes have resulted in a second-generation device that is more cost-effective, offers improved comfort, and takes up less space so as not to interfere with the natural cooling of the human body. Based on customer feedback, the EVO also offers a greater range of motion.
The EVO passive arm and shoulder support exoskeleton has the following objectives:
To achieve these goals, the EVO uses a patented stacked-link structure. This innovative approach to shoulder support in wearable ergonomic solutions allows greater freedom of body movement while maintaining joint alignment. The EVO can now achieve new positions such as overhead, sideways or backward. The mechanical actuators of the gas springs have been retained and the level of support can be individually adjusted by the user on each arm.
It should be noted that, similar to other exoskeletons with passive support (and most active exoskeletons), users should only lift the same weight that they could lift without the device. The EVO is intended to provide 5-15 lb (2.2-6.8 kg) of lifting support per arm. It is not designed to provide "super strength" but rather to reduce muscle strain and fatigue.
The Ekso Evo Upper Body Exoskeleton from Ekso Bionics is an industrial exoskeleton for use both indoors and outdoors. It focuses on supporting the upper body, especially the shoulders, neck and arms. It allows overhead and frontal movements. The exoskeleton weighs 3.4 kg and can be used by users with a height of 150 to 200 cm. It is suitable for use in the assembly, craft, industrial and manufacturing sectors. It is not powered by electricity and no AI is used. The exoskeleton is dust and water resistant and can be used in temperatures up to 40 degrees. The retail price is 4900 euros net and the product can be purchased in Africa, Europe, Asia and the US. There is no minimum purchase required and no regular maintenance is needed. The exoskeleton has a CE mark and is manufactured in Europe.
Key finding: Ekso EVO is an advanced exoskeleton designed to enable strength without pain. It provides comfort, reduces worker fatigue and improves health, endurance and productivity. With innovative technology and a lightweight structure, Ekso EVO provides greater freedom of movement and prevents workplace injuries. It is a high quality solution for industrial applications.
EVO is covered by a 1-year limited warranty.
The goal should be to not want to lift more than without the system.
EVO helps you lift 5 to 15 lb. (2.2 to 6.8 kg) per arm. The system is designed to reduce fatigue, not awaken superpowers in you. The equipment to be carried feels much lighter all the same.
The creation takes only a few seconds and can be done independently.
